Scott County provides a large number of services to adult residents.  Below is a list of programs Scott County offers as well as information on community supports.
  1. Adult Mental Health

    The Adult Mental Health Unit provides case management and community support services to Scott County adults with a serious and persistent mental illness. The focus of the service is to help client’s live in their communities maintaining stability and maximizing self-sufficiency.

  2. Adult Protection

    The Adult Protective Services Unit, as an agent of the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services, is authorized to investigate the abuse, neglect and exploitation of an elderly or disabled person, who resides in a community setting, and to provide protective services and community support to that person.

  3. Chemical Dependency

    Scott County Health & Human Services provides chemical use assessments (sometimes referred to as “Rule 25 assessments”) for individuals seeking to know if they are drug or alcohol dependent and treatment options.

  4. Developmental Disability

    Developmental Disabilities is a unit within Scott County Health and Human Services, that provides services to eligible children and adults with disabilities.

  5. Employment & Training

    Information on employment options, training for employment and employment resources.

  6. Foster Care

    Adults may be placed in foster care if they cannot live alone safely because of disabilities or poor health. The foster care program provides and alternative for adults who need daily help but want to live in a family setting rather than a nursing home or other facility.

  7. Home and Community Care for Seniors and Disabled

    The Home and Community Care Programs help people live in the community as independently as possible. Our services can help the elderly and people with disabilities, and their families, with service planning and getting the help they need.

  8. Mental Health Center

    The Mental Health Center works to provide assessment, therapy and consultation services to the residents of Scott County.

  9. New Options

    Day training and habilitation program for adults with disabilities.

  10. Public Health Clinics and Services

    Scott County Public Health provides a variety of free clinics to the uninsured/under-insured in order to maintain a healthy community.
