11:30pm – 12:00pm: Optional Free Blood Pressure Checks and Community Displays 12:00pm – 1:00pm: Severe Weather Awareness Training Using the results of the NWS Assessment of the Joplin Tornado as a case study, this class talks about the general complacency the public has to our severe weather warning procedures, and the dangerous impacts that could have. While several weather threats are discussed, an emphasis is placed on tornadoes, the Scott County siren policy, and how to best protect yourself during a severe weather event.
