Apply to be a Century Farm!

Century Farms

The Minnesota Farm Bureau and the Minnesota State Fair partner each year on the Century Farm program to honor Minnesota families that have owned their farms for at least 100 years, are at least 50 acres in size, and are currently involved in agricultural production.  The Minnesota State Fair designates Century Farm status in early summer of every year.  Century Farm families receive a commemorative sign, as well as a certificate signed by the president of the State Fair, president of the Minnesota Farm Bureau, and the Governor of the Minnesota.

Minnesota Farm Bureau also honors Minnesota families who have owned their farms for at least 150 years.  As with the Century Farm recognition, the farm must consist of at least 50 or more acres, and currently be involved in agricultural production.  A commemorative certificate signed by the Governor of Minnesota, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and the president of the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation will be awarded to qualifying families, along with an outdoor sign signifying Sesquicentennial Farm recognition.

Applications for these awards can be found on or you can call the office at 507-455-0745 to have one sent to you.  The deadline for the applications is April 2, 2018.  Applications should be mailed to the address at the bottom of each application.

Be sure to share this information with your neighbors – it’s not limited to Farm Bureau members.
