New as of May 13, 2020: Transit Link offering free rides to work for essential workers
Transit Link (a.k.a., Dial a Ride) is offering free rides to and from work for essential workers. Essential Workers may be employed in economic sectors such as healthcare and public health, law enforcement and public safety, food and agriculture, and transportation and logistics.
An Essential Worker may be an existing or new Transit Link customer. To be eligible, the customer must identify themselves as an Essential Worker at time of booking and must show the driver their employer or union letter indicating they are employed as an essential worker. SmartLink/TransitLink is a door to door bus service available to all Scott County residents which is still operating. At this time there is availability on the buses. We also offer pick-ups and deliveries of food and medicine, if available. We ask that you please cancel any non-essential trips, especially if you have underlying health conditions, like diabetes, asthma, or heart disease. Customers using the service should wash your hands before riding, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home if you’re sick. If you need a ride please call Customer Service at 962.496.8341 Option 1 and we will do our best to accommodate your requested destination; even on short notice.
*Our Volunteer driver program has been temporarily suspended until further notice.
*The Smartlink customer service window at the Marschall Road Transit Station has been closed as mandated by the closure of all Scott County buildings until April 10th.
*MVTA is still operating, please go to www.mvta.com for the latest news on their operations. Schedules are changing as of March 20.
