Within the seven-county metropolitan area, watershed management organizations must develop, and revise watershed management plans every ten years.  The following video describes the Local Water Management Plan Update process: Water Management Video

Watershed Management Plan 2019-2026

The Plan was formally approved by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources in September 2018.  This is an eight-year Plan and the third-generation watershed management Plan for the Scott WMO.  

The first Plan was adopted in 2004 – 2009, the second-generation Plan was adopted in 2009 – 2018.  

Our Watershed Management Plan includes goals, strategies and measures in six primary areas:

• Groundwater

• Surface water quality

• Wetland management 

• Flood management

• Building a Resilient Landscape

• Collective Action
