Lakes

The Scott Watershed Management Organization works with local partners to improve and protect lakes within the watershed.  Certain lakes are prioritized for additional management strategies dependent on many factors that are outlined in the Scott Watershed Management Organization Comprehensive Water Resources Plan

Aquatic plant surveys are helpful for characterizing the health of the plant community in a lake.  They can provide important information about the type and distribution of plants, detect the presence of invasive species, and help inform management decisions.  There are several aquatic plant survey methods, the Scott WMO uses the point-intercept survey method.  You can learn more about it in this video: Lake Point-Intercept Vegetation Monitoring Video (2021)
