Scott County Update - 3/17/2020 3:25 PM

Scott County will close all county buildings effective close of business today, March 17, to protect the safety of Scott County employees and residents.  This closure will remain in effect until at least Wednesday, April 1, 2020. 

Scott County staff will continue to provide all life-safety and emergency services and will perform all services that can be performed through email, online, telephone, or other electronic means.

County staff are developing alternative ways to provide services and will update the public as new information becomes available.

Option 1: Apply via email

Complete and print the Death Record Application (Fillable PDF).Take the application to a notary and have them notarize your signature. Scan or take a good quality photo of the application and email to customerservicevm@co.scott.mn.us . Ensure your daytime contact information is provided on the application and in the body of your email. Applications without contact information cannot be processed. Staff will call you at the time of processing to obtain credit/debit information, A 2.49% service fee is assessed on all credit/debit transactions. Your request will be processed within 24 hours and your  certificate(s)  will be mailed to the address provided on the application.  

Option 2: Request by Mail



Print and complete Death Record Application (Fillable PDF).

Cost


Certified death records are available for a fee of $13 for the first copy and $6 for additional copies ordered at the same time for the same record. 
 
You can pay with cash, check (payable to Scott County) or credit card. If you pay with a credit card you will be paying a 2.45% convenience fee.
