About the Groundwater Impact Study

A groundwater study was completed in order to assess impacts that planned rural growth will have on groundwater in the DAP area and surrounding communities. The groundwater study models the impacts under three different scenarios: 2030 population at rural densities (1 unit/2.5 acres), ultimate build-out at rural densities, and ultimate build-out at urban densities (3 units/acre).

The groundwater model predicts the impacts to groundwater and surface water (Savage Fen, Vermillion River, and Credit River, see Table 2.2 of study). View a summarized model comparison (PDF) and estimated draw-down amounts identified for both groundwater and surface water under each scenario.
