This annual project is part of the Countywide pavement preservation program. Overlays are performed on a regular basis to preserve to initial paving investment and provide additional safety enhancements.
Sealcoating is essential in pavement preservation and extending the life of our asphalt pavement investment. Sealcoating is a crucial preservation tool for pavement management. It includes many benefits such as slowing deterioration by resisting oxidation from the sun, replacing eroded surfaces, extending pavement life, and optimizing the overall value of the asphalt pavement.
Phase 3 of Scott County’s Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) project will connect signals along CH 21, CH 42, and CH 83 to the County’s fiber network.
The pedestrian/bike overpass closes a trail gap and provides a facility that crosses TH 169 and gives a direct pedestrian link to the Marschall Road Transit Center. A trail segment gap and a pedestrian/bike overpass of TH 169 will be constructed along the west side of CH 17 from CH 16 to the NW ramp of TH 169 in the city of Shakopee.
The County Road 83 (Canterbury Road) Construction Project will be converting the existing 4-lane undivided highway into a 4-lane divided highway with center medians. The new design will also include trails on both sides of the road. As a part of this work, crews will also be replacing the underground utilities.
MnDOT is reconstructing the Hwy 13 and Dakota Ave. intersection in Savage. The Dakota Ave. interchange construction project area includes Hwy 13 between the Hwy 13/Hwy 101 interchange and Quentin Ave. Construction will include a new Hwy 13 bridge over Dakota Ave. to allow for safer and improved traffic flow, build new access ramps to/from Hwy 13 and Dakota Ave. to improve turning movements and reduce traffic backups, and realign South Frontage Rd. for better access to/from Hwy 13 and add a new north side frontage road to connect Dakota Ave. and Yosemite Ave.
This project includes the installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of CH 15 and CH 16 as well as road widening to accommodate the construction of a raised median on CH 15 through the intersection with CH 16.
The project will expand the existing two-lane rural section to a four-lane urban roadway consistent with the County Highway 27 Corridor Study between CH 21 and CH 44 in Credit River Township.
The City of Prior Lake, in partnership with Scott County, is making improvements to the CSAH 21/Revere Way intersection. The project will include reconstructing the existing offset intersection. The existing connection between 170th Street and CSAH 21 will be closed and realigned with Revere Way to eliminate the existing offset intersection.
This project will construct a roadway extension realigning Jordan Avenue to 173rd Street by removing its current connection on TH 169 and improving the current 166th St access to TH169 by creating a public street connection to Jordan Avenue. Berkshire Lane will be extended north to Bluff Drive for increased mobility along with the construction of a northbound acceleration lane for right-turning vehicles to TH 169.
MnDOT will be resurfacing Hwy 13 from Hwy 282 to Hwy 19. The bituminous pavement will be resurfaced and 8’ shoulders will be paved. Left turn lanes will be constructed at CR 17, CR 10, and CR 64.
In conjunction with the TH 13 resurfacing project, Scott County will be improving the safety and operations at the County Highway 8 and Trunk Highway 13 intersection in Spring Lake and Cedar Lake Townships. The project will reconstruct the intersection as a single-lane roundabout.
CH 66 Turn Lane Construction
The project will construct a westbound bypass lane at CH 66 at Minnesota Harvest and Event Center.
CH 15 Turnback (TH 19 to 12th Avenue/270th Street in New Prague)
The project will bring the roadway into a state of good repair with an overlay, drainage repairs, and sign replacements prior to the jurisdictional transfer to the City of New Prague.
