The Truth About Sexting, Sextortion, and Online Predators: A Community Awareness and Prevention Training
Saturday, February 17, 2018
This free community education for high school students, parents, and professionals will help people understand the truth about sexting and its connection to sextortion, child pornography, and cybersex trafficking. Minnesota’s recent largest child pornography case began by soliciting photos from 171 unsuspecting high school boys on social media. Learn how this happens, and how to answer the question: Is this happening here? You’ll learn how to recognize and help someone who is being exploited, and an introduction to local outreach, prevention, support programs, and resources. Participation is free, but registration is requested: www.eventbrite.com.
Keynote speakers:
Ron Hocevar, Scott County Attorney
Officer Dale Hanson, Minneapolis Police Department
Jessica Bartholomew, A.C.T. (Anti-Child Trafficking) United
