On December 16 (7-9 PM) and December 17 (10AM – 4 PM), you can come experience The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park living history event! During living history events, there’s more to explore! Embrace the long nights of mid-winter as you experience the park in a new “light.” Follow candlelit paths to a variety of historic homes in the 1889 Village decorated for the holiday season. Inside, costumed guides will share stories by candlelight of the many holiday traditions brought to Minnesota by 19th century immigrants. From the story of Hanukkah to the origin of the Christmas tree, discover why so many holiday traditions are designed to bring light into the long dark nights surrounding the winter solstice. Stop in anytime between the above hours. Tickets are required to enter the historic homes. Cost is $15 and there is a 20 percent discount for groups of four or more. This program is open to all ages and children 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
