About the Readmobile
The Readmobile brings learning, literacy, and fun to Scott County communities with visits to public and residential sites, community organizations, and special events. Children and their families and caregivers can visit anytime during a Readmobile stop. Readmobile activities and materials encourage literacy and learning to help prepare children for school, reading, and beyond. During a visit, children can browse and borrow from our diverse collection of books, grab a healthy snack, and receive a fun age-specific activity.
Visit the SCL Readmobile page to find out where we'll be next.
Thanks to our Sponsors
The Readmobile vehicle and start-up collection were funded by the Diane J. Sachs Trust and a grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in 2018. Staff and ongoing collection funds are supported by the library’s operating budget. The programming model for the vehicle was developed by staff from Scott County Public Health, Children’s Services, and Scott County Library.
