Visit the Scott County Historical Society on Thursday, February 29 (6:30 – 8 PM), for “Nights at the Museum: Missing Fingers… and all the details to be found in primary sources” led by author and historian Tricia Velure!
Sure, we will find names, dates, and addresses of our ancestors by checking birth records, draft cards, the Census, and death certificates. But what other historical details can we find? The hints often are hiding in plain sight! And the findings are enough to help us create not just a basic timeline, but a rich story of the people who came before us. Tricia Velure will be here to provide a glimpse a few of the interesting stories she’s uncovered and learn how you can do the same in your family research.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://www.scottcountyhistory.org/events/nights-at-the-museum-telling-your-familys-story.
