"Get Hooked On Fishing, Not On Drugs!” Every summer, local young people join local peace officers and other public safety personnel for a day of fun and fishing on the Minnesota River.
Are you a youth 12 - 16 years of age who lives in or attends school in Scott County? Would you like to go fishing on the Minnesota River with a member of local public safety organizations?
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is holding their 17th Annual Youth Catfishing Tournament on Monday, August 7th, 2017. The event will start at 6:30 AM and end with an awards ceremony at approximately 2:00 PM. We’ll “stage” at the Scott County Fairgrounds, but most of your day will be spent on the Minnesota River trying to catch one of the biggest fish in North America!
Prizes will be awarded and all youth will receive participation gifts. We’ll supply the fishing gear and other supplies for the day - all free!
All registrations will be done online. Please visit the Scott County website at www.scottcountymn.gov where the Catfish Derby registration form can be found under Sheriff’s Office “Community Programs”. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 952-496-8298.
Applications will be accepted beginning June 26th and will remain open until all spots are filled. Space is limited to 50 participants. Priority will be given to individuals who did not participate last year.
Join us on the Minnesota River for a day of sun, fun and catfish!
