[ARCHIVED] New transit service starts April 16

New bus service

A new transit option will soon be rolling into town. Beginning April 16, Jordan residents will be able to take a bus to various locations between Mankato and Minneapolis.
Land to Air Express out of Mankato will be launching its Highway 169 Connection next month, which will provide an easy and affordable option for college kids who want to travel home on the weekend, people who can no longer drive, or those who want an easier or less hectic travel experience into the Twin Cities, perhaps for a Gophers or Twins game.

The stops, from Mankato to Minneapolis, include the Land to Air Depot, Mankato State University – Lot 11, Gustavus at the 3 Flag Cutout, the St. Peter Food Co-op, Value Stay Inn in Le Sueur, the Belle Plaine McDonald’s, Holiday gas station in Jordan, the Marschall Road Transit Station in Shakopee, light rail at the Government Platform Plaza Station or Target Field Stadium in Minneapolis, and the Hawthorne Transportation Center.

One-way ticket prices range from $5-15, depending on where you want to go. One-way fares would be $5 to the Shakopee, LeSueur and Belle Plaine locations from Jordan; $10 to Minneapolis, Gustavus and St. Peter; and $15 to Mankato.

The bus stops along the route are near other transit options that can connect residents to specific attractions. For example, from the Marschall Road Transit Station in Shakopee, residents can catch another bus to the Mall of America in Bloomington.
