[ARCHIVED] Youth Snowmobile Safety Training

Sheriff Luke Hennen is encouraging Scott County youth to complete Snowmobile Safety Training, to fulfill the certification required by law.

“We all want everyone to be able to get out and enjoy our Minnesota winters, especially our young people.  That’s why it is so important that they be adequately trained on how to safely operate snowmobiles – just like with driver’s education to operate a vehicle.  Safety should always be our first priority.”

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one day “field training” to fulfill the second part of the DNR’s online course.  This field training is for the Youth Snowmobile Safety Certification and is for snowmobile operators ages 11 through 15.  The field day training will take place on December 16th, 2017 and December 17th, 2017 at the Regional Training Facility (RTF), 17706 Valley View Drive, Jordan, MN 55352.

The training dates/times are as follows:

  • 12/16/17  -  8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • 12/16/17 - 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • 12/17/16  -  8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • 12/17/16  - 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

For more information and to register online, please visit the Sheriff's website and the DNR's website for online training.
