On August 22, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested in connection to a criminal sexual conduct incident that occurred on August 7, 2018 on the 17000 block of Valley View Drive in Sand Creek Township.
With the assistance of the Eden Prairie Police Department, Austin Jeffrey Jones (DOB 2/3/1992), Eden Prairie, was arrested by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office in Eden Prairie and transported to the Scott County Jail where he was booked on probable cause for 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
“The detectives assigned to this case worked quickly and methodically in order to give this victim the justice she deserves,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen. “Reports of sexual violence are taken very seriously and I am pleased that we have made an arrest in this case. We will continue to work diligently to ensure that the County Attorney’s Office has all of the evidence to proceed with prosecution.”
At the initial incident, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Jordan Police Department, Belle Plaine Police Department, New Prague Police Department, Shakopee Police Department, Jordan Fire Department, Mdewakanton Public Safety, and Allina Ambulance.
The Scott County Attorney’s Office is expected to issue a formal complaint regarding this incident.
