Scott County Parks and Three Rivers Park District will be holding two maple sugaring events on Saturday, March 16!
Maple Syrup Through History
Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park, Shakopee. Visit with maple syrup makers from the past. Journey to the sugar bush with a naturalist from Richardson Nature Center and discover how the trees of Minnesota helped serve early pioneers. Perfect for scouts working on badge requirements. Enter at the east entrance; last entry at 1 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome. Cost is $8 for ages 18-64, $5 for ages 2-17 and 65+. Children under 2 admitted free.
Maple Syruping — Tapping into Nature
Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Cleary Lake Regional Park, Prior Lake. Discover maple syruping. Identify trees, tap, and collect the sap. See how it boils into syrup. Drop in anytime. Cost is $5 and there is a 20 percent discount for groups of four or more. This program is open to all ages and children 17 years and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult.
