The annual Savage Recycling Day is Saturday, May 4, at Savage Community Park! This City-sponsored event provides residents an opportunity to discard unwanted appliances, electronics, furniture, yard waste, and other items for a reasonable fee. The City contracts with local garbage and recycling companies to collect the items and ensure they are disposed of in a manner that is appropriate for the environment. Other items that are too good to throw away can be donated to families transitioning from homelessness to an apartment or a house. Members of the Savage Rotary will be onsite to accept usable furniture and other items on behalf of Bridging, Inc. Bridging is a non-profit organization that benefits individuals and families in need. Savage Community Park is located at 13500 Dakota Avenue South, north of County Road 42 and along the west side of County Road 27. A complete list of accepted and unaccepted items and fees is available online at cityofsavage.com or on a flyer available at City Hall. For more information or questions, contact the City at 952-882-2660.
NOTE: Paper shredding is not part of Recycle Day. The annual citywide shredding event will be held in September.
