Service Day Saturday is a free and fun community event that will take place on April 13 from 10 AM to 3 PM on the Savage City Campus. This youth-led event is a day when businesses, organizations, faith groups, families, and residents can participate in over a dozen, simple activities that will help local non-profits. Last year, an estimated 1,500 people attended -- and over 10,000 people -- were helped in some way by this event. In between volunteering, there will be all kinds of fun, including:
· Free hotdog lunch with firefighters (while supply lasts)
· Ice cream treats
· Art projects
· Face painting
· Chair massages
· Red Cross blood drive
· Police cars and fire trucks
· Pet adoptions
· Shuttle rides around the city campus
Non-profits will be at Service Day that can use your donations to help others. Bring these needed items to the event, or drop them off at Savage City Hall starting April 8 anytime between 8 AM and 4:30 PM:
· Non-perishable food
· Used shoes- any size or type
· Brown paper grocery bags
· Gently used children’s books
· Coins and bills – every $50 will provide a goat to provide sustainable income
