UPDATE – FLOODING - PRESS RELEASE #2 from Jordan Police Department – For Immediate Release
The Jordan Police Department and Scott County Emergency Management along with public works departments are continued to work on a solution for clearing the ice dam (s) from the Sand Creek near the City of Jordan that created the flooding in Valley Green Park that occurred in the early evening yesterday.
Sand Creek levels are for the most part holding steady at this time. We are hopeful once the ice dams are cleared that water levels will reduce and recede rather quickly allowing us to return displaced residents to their homes potentially later today.
Attempting to travel by vehicle in and out of Valley Green Park is not advised, as water levels are still at a point where most passenger vehicles are unable to successfully pass.
The Jordan Police Department will release updated relevant information as it becomes available.
