On November 6, 2020, at 1:18 a.m., Scott County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch received a report of a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Marystown Road, approximately one-half mile north of Highway 282 in Sand Creek Township.
Initial investigation indicates that a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling southbound on Marystown Road at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and hit a drainage ditch, causing it to flip over and start on fire.
The driver of the vehicle was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, it has not been determined if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
“This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this incident by Mdewakanton Public Safety, Jordan Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and Allina Ambulance Service.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this crash. Positive identification of the deceased, along with an official cause of death will be made by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
