Minnesota Statute Section 626.19 and amended Minnesota Statute Section 13.82 established guidelines for the use of “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” or “UAV” (commonly known as a drone) and all the storage, retrieval and dissemination of images and data captured by the UAV. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of developing a UAV program. Pursuant to the statute, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office is providing an opportunity for public comment in various formats.
