Scott County Sheriff’s Office Employee Promotion

Scott County Sheriff Luke Hennen is pleased to announce the promotion of 911 Dispatcher Ashlee Sames to the rank of Dispatch Supervisor.

Sames started her public safety career as a Dispatcher for the Sheriff’s Office in 2007.  She has worked a number of assignments over the years including, Communications Training Officer (CTO), Crisis Negotiator, and Supervisor.  She also worked at Ramsey County for four years as a 911 Telecommunicator, Police Dispatcher, CTO, Academy Instructor and Out-of-Title Supervisor before returning to the Sheriff’s Office in March 2020.

The 911 Dispatch Center is located at the Law Enforcement Center in Shakopee and serves over 152,000 residents of Scott County.  Operating under the Sheriff’s Office Communications Division, there are currently 17 full-time dispatchers and 3 full-time supervisors who take an average of 250,000 calls a year.  They respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance and information and provide dispatch and communication support for all our cities in Scott County, including 9 law enforcement agencies, 8 fire departments, and 5 ambulance services.  This division is also responsible for activating the Scott County Warning System and operates and maintains the 800 MHz radio system for all law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services, as well as Public Health, Public Works, and public transit within the county.

“We’re excited to have Ashlee back in our office and in a supervisory role,” said Sheriff Hennen. “She has consistently gone above and beyond to make a difference within our community and has a significant impact on those she helps.”

The Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for outstanding people who want to make a difference in their community by serving as 911 dispatchers.  Apply now for a career with the Sheriff's Office by visiting our website at www.scottcountymn.gov and click on “Job Postings” to learn more.
