[ARCHIVED] Scott County Announces Logo Competition for Area Students

Logo competition

The winning submissions will be used for the document cover page and section title pages of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and/or will be used in promotional materials, websites, and for materials produced by Scott County SHIP.

The 2040 Comprehensive Plan will guide residents and decision makers on future land use, transportation, recreation, natural resources, utilities, and safe, healthy and livable communities. This document reflects goals, values, and vision of county residents and the section title pages will help us illustrate those.

Scott County SHIP provides funds for various healthy eating and active living initiatives for the community. The SHIP strategies for Scott County include healthy eating and active living in schools, worksite wellness, healthy eating and active living in the community, and building healthcare. Initiatives SHIP supports include schoolyard gardens, community gardens, food shelves, farmers markets, wellness support at worksites, linking patients to resources in healthcare, and much more.

We are looking for submissions from six topic areas. The first is a logo for the Statewide Health Improvement Program in Scott County. We are looking for ideas aimed at creating good health for Scott County communities by supporting healthy eating and active lifestyle choices, and understanding that “health matters.” The additional five topic areas will support the cover pages of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. These topics include land use, transportation, parks and trails, water and natural resources, and an overall vision for Scott County.

Any design will be accepted, whether hand drawn or computer-based. Each winning design will receive recognition in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, a certificate, and cash prize of $100. Submission deadline is June 15, 2016. Winning designs will be chosen by a committee of Scott County employees working on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and SHIP. Designs will be chosen by July 1, and winners will be notified by July 15, 2016. All decisions are final.
