The Scott County political boundary redistricting process is underway! Residents can learn more about the process, the applicable requirements and timelines, view the proposed maps, and learn how they can get involved here: https://scottcountymn.gov/2056/Redistricting.
Redistricting is the process of redrawing the boundaries of election districts to ensure that the people of each district are equally represented. This process is done throughout many levels of government, and happens every 10 years following the federal Census.
Maps are currently on display in the Government Center Atrium, with comment cards available for community input. People can provide input on proposed plans via comment cards located in the Government Center Atrium, or submit their own plans via email at SCElections@co.scott.mn.us using the subject line "redistricting plan."
Scott County will also be holding Town Hall meetings to allow residents to inspect and provide feedback on the proposed redistricting plans for the Scott County Commissioner Districts and the Scott Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The Town Hall meetings are scheduled as follows:
