If you’ve forgotten your PIN and have an email on file, visit our Catalog & My Account page to start the process. Check your junk email folder for the reset link. You can also change your PIN by contacting staff at any Scott County Library.

If you return an item on a weekend or later in the day, you may need to wait until the next business day to see the item checked in and cleared from your account. You may also receive an overdue notice, depending on timing. You may disregard this notice if the item was returned. For additional assistance, please contact the SCL branch where you returned the item so staff can search for it.
Scott County Library no longer charges daily overdue late fines (as of March 2022), but we do charge for unreturned or damaged items. An item is marked as unreturned in our system 21 days after its due date.
We've implemented system blocks to help remind customers to return items. If your account has accrued a balance greater than $25.00 due to old fines or unreturned items, you will be unable to check out additional physical items. Customers with blocked accounts can still access eBooks, use WiFi, reserve meeting rooms, use library computers, print, copy, and use other in-library services.
First, call or email your library so we can mark the item as "lost" in our system. You may pay with cash or check in person during staffed hours. Outside of staffed hours, you can for the item by credit card anytime through our Catalog & My Account page or our mobile app (available on both iOS and Android).
To renew your library card, simply contact us in the way that works best for you. Library staff will need to re-verify your address, phone number, and email address.
There are several different ways to renew your items:
1. Let our system do it for you. Our system will attempt to renew an item for you if no one else has a hold on it. When an item is coming due, an attempt will be made to renew it automatically for another 3 weeks. You will receive an email reminder 3 days before an item’s due date informing whether materials have been automatically renewed or need to be returned. Items will renew up to 5 times.
2. You can manually renew items, and manage your whole account, through our Catalog & My Account site. Sign in with your library card and PIN. You can renew your checked out items from My Account.
3. Renewing is easier than ever with the Scott Lib (MN) mobile app. Sign in your library card and PIN to search our catalog for materials, place holds, check your account balance, pay fines, and more.
In person: Visit a library charges in person with cash or check.
Web Browser: You can also pay online with a credit card from our Catalog & My Account site - sign into your account with your library card and PIN. Choose the Fines tab > click on ProPay Credit Card Payments.
Mobile App: Credit card payments are conveniently accepted in our app. Download the "Scott Lib MN" app from your app store and sign into the My Account tab with your library card number and PIN. Use the Charges tab to find an itemized list of charges and begin the payment process

You may pay online via credit card anytime through our Catalog & My Account site or the ScottLib (MN) mobile app. You will need your library card number and PIN to sign in.
Yes. We use a service called ProPay to process online credit card transactions made through our Catalog & My Account site. ProPay has a secure payment portal seamlessly integrated into our catalog and the library's mobile app. It uses a separate website with an encryption certificate. For your protection, your credit card information is not stored on Library servers or permanently saved anywhere by the Library.
There are no service charges or convenience fees associated with our online payment module. You will never pay above and beyond your library fee when using a credit card on our Catalog & My Account site.
No, we do not charge daily overdue late fines. As of March 1, 2022, Scott County Library is permanently fine free. However, customers will continue to be responsible for previously accrued fines (before 2022) and bills for unreturned (missing or lost) and damaged items. An item is marked "unreturned" in our system 21 days after its original due date. Payment options are available online and in person.
